What is the NMDP HOSA Service Project?

HOSA elected NMDPSM as their service project partner in June 2020. Since then, thousands of HOSA chapters across the country have added new potential donors to the NMDP RegistrySM and pre-registry, and raised critical dollars to ensure patients focus on healing instead of medical bills.

The NMDP and HOSA partnership continues to grow and together, we save lives. In fact, NMDP is proud to be HOSA’s Premier Service Project Partner! For more information, please visit NMDP.org/HOSA.

How do I register?

Start HERE. Your advisor or HOSA chapter president/leader should register first and create your chapter's team page. Only ONE person per chapter can create a team. Whoever creates the team page will also receive a personal page. Chapter members should then “Join the Team” and each will receive their own personal page. All funds raised on personal pages will roll up and count toward the chapter team's progress. All chapter team pages roll up to the overall HOSA fundraising progress

What if my chapter isn't fundraising? Can I still create a fundraising page?

Yes! If you do not have a chapter team, you may register as an Individual Fundraiser. Your individual fundraising will roll up to the overall HOSA fundraising progress.

I have questions about using my fundraising page, what can I do?

Be sure to review the Fundraising User Guide linked in your page's Resources tab. You must be registered and logged in to view this document. For more information, please reach out to us at HOSA@nmdp.org

What if I don’t remember my username or password?

Go to ACCOUNT LOGIN at the top of the page and click “Forgot Password”. Your username, or a link to reset your password, will be emailed to you within minutes. These messages occasionally end up in spam or junk mail folders, so please be sure to check.

If you have any questions, please contact us at HOSA@nmdp.org.

We collected cash and checks at an event, how do I turn those in to NMDP? Will they show on our page?

We always recommend turning cash into a cashier’s check before shipping. Then you can send all funds with this form (mailing address is at the bottom of the form). All gifts will be added to your chapter's fundraising page.

What else can I do with my page?

You can link your Twitch or YouTube live stream and supporters can make donations without ever leaving your stream! You can also set milestones and interactive incentives like jump scares to encourage your supporters to give. Have some fun with it!

Who do I contact if I have questions about the site?

Contact us at HOSA@nmdp.org with any questions.

Where does the money go?

NMDP uses the funds raised to help bone marrow and blood stem cell transplant patients find genetically matched donors and receive the transplant they need. Your fundraising dollars help save lives by:

  • Adding new potential donors to the NMDP RegistrySM
  • Helping patients with uninsured costs of transplant
  • Funding life-saving transplant research

For more information about NMDP and our life-saving work, visit NMDP.org.

Can I raise money for a specific patient?

As a NMDP fundraiser, the funds you raise will be used to help all patients in need of a bone marrow or blood stem cell transplant. The funds cannot be allocated to an individual patient.

Can I fundraise through Facebook or Twitter or Instagram?

Yes, and you’ll raise even more money using social media! Once you've registered for NMDP, you may access your Dashboard to quickly connect your personal page to Facebook!

Don’t forget about Twitter, Instagram, or other social media to invite your friends to support you. Be sure to post regular updates as you make progress toward your fundraising goal and to publicly thank your supporters. Tag your posts with #NMDP to reach even more people.

NOTE: If you use Instagram to fundraise, make sure to add the url to your fundraising page to your bio. Direct your network to give via the link in your bio. This is the only way to ensure Instagram donations are credited to your chapter's page.
